I found network marketing a long time ago and then decided to get Dave Ramsey’s opinion on it. If you aren’t sure who Dave Ramsey is, google him and you will find he is a highly competent and sought after financial counselor.
Dave Ramsey endorsed network marketing, even though he was not in the profession, but he cautioned people to make sure they had their eyes wide open. So, I began to educate myself on the profession.
Since then, I have learned that I respect the profession greatly and the leaders I have come to know through their videos. With network marketing you have to learn a particular skill set dealing with people, and then train others to develop the same skill set. You are driving solid, legitimate products to the end consumer and being paid when the consumer buys those products.
You also get paid when your team drives those products to the end consumer, and typically get paid so many levels deep as your team grows. That leverage is where your income comes from, and leverage is how we build wealth.
This is something I believe anybody can do if they choose to work hard at it. There are incredible dividends over time if you master the necessary communication skills and training skills, because you then leverage the efforts of the team of people you have built.
So, if you feel like you can motivate others, train others, deal with a certain degree of rejection and are willing to follow up with people over the long term, then you have a strong chance of succeeding. It will typically take around 5 years to build a substantial income, since the real money in network marketing comes on the back end after training a team of people to train others, and then repeat the process.
As Eric Worre, who I highly respect, has said, and I paraphrase in this post,….network marketing isn’t perfect, it’s just better. Many, many people have been highly successful, but after they worked hard to train others and then leveraged their team’s efforts as well as their own.
Now, for affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, you are paid commissions to sell other people’s products as well, but you don’t necessarily build a team. This varies from one product to the next since some products have recurring commissions, but you aren’t really building a team and training them.
With affiliate marketing, you are simply driving sales and most professionals have a system that they leverage instead of a team of people. With the system, and an auto responder, you are using capture pages and getting people’s permission to email them by a double optin form. With this permission, you are leading with valuable information and then making product offers.
When they decide to buy one of your offers, you get commissions. With the system you leverage, you are making sales whether you are logged into the system or not. You can do this same thing with network marketing, teaching your team to do it as well.
Now, if you want to continue researching both affiliate marketing and network marketing, I highly suggest you do so. I actually recommend, after some experience online now, that you start with affiliate marketing and then transition to network marketing after you have some skills under your belt.
Either way you go, a system that you can use for both to generate leads can be found by going here for some free training. If you want I can send you the links to some 20 different free trainings.
I hope you got value from this post. I believe both affiliate marketing and network marketing are good routes to go, and you just need to decide which fits your personality the best.
